All right, shaking off the cooking ho-hums and turning tomorrow morning into a cooking day.  Mostly because Ben, Arthur and Lauren are coming by and I'm looking forward to cooking for them.

So!

-Salmon with blueberry pan sauce, probably with rice (jasmine?)
-Also, this calls for the salmon to be grilled but I'm thinking I can sear it on both sides (1-2 minutes each) and then put it in the oven for 10 minutes.  Will that work?

-
Succotash of fresh corn, lima beans, tomatoes and onion, mainly because I like saying succotash
-Rustic plum and port tart

Also, going to make creamy potato salad (with dill! *loves*) for the picnic dinner for the concert on Sunday.

Seriously, succotash is a ridiculously fun word to say.

Searing and baking is fine, but you will want to keep a close eye on it. If it overcooks, it'll be shoe leather.

And that's what really worries me. What's a good temperature - 300/350? I'm thinking about 10 minutes and then I check it.

350, and check it at five minute intervals. Salmon should be slightly rare in the middle.

And it should flake easily, yes?

I really read "rustic plum and port tart" as rustic plum and pop tart...

That's what I thought when I first read it lol. But your version definitely sounds yummier!

It's a tart - with wine! How could it go wrong? (Well, so many ways but still.)
