My favorite place to eat in Warrenton is the Iron Bridge that has a huge wine selection and really good food. They're kind of pricey, though, so we only go every so often but we had some incentive to go last night. Leading up to the winter holidays, the Iron Bridge gives out red envelopes every time you go in for dinner. You can't open them until January (through Feb. 9th) and you can't open them at home.
So, you come back between 1/1 and 2/9 with your red envelope and the waitstaff open it when you sit down and you win a prize. That prize can be anything from paying a penny for a bottle of wine, a free desert or the big one a free dinner a month for an entire year.
Not only did we want to see what was in the card but it was my parents 32nd anniversary last week (Groundhogs Day!), so I wanted to take them out to dinner as their gift.
Know what we got in our card? Two free dinners right then and there - appetizer, main and dessert. ;) Essentially, I got $90 knocked right off the bill. Not only was I pleased because, hey, that's awesome but it meant my parents weren't going to go out of their way to pick the cheapest things on the menu to order just because I was paying. :P
It was still pricey (ahah, that's what you get for ordering a bottle of wine and then both dad and I got an extra drink on top of that with our dessert) but, damn, you can't beat $90 off the price.
And the food was excellent, as always.
