Oh, emotional shopping, we used to have so much fun together but now you're no longer fun to be around...

Seriously, though, I'm not overspending / overshopping horrendously but I have been buying more than I need these past few months.  I'm self-aware enough to realize exactly why I'm doing it and why it's okay for the most part but also that, hey, it's probably time to slow down.  After all, savings should be used to cover that cute little new jacket but, mostly, they should be for the new apartment next year, you know?

That being said, the fact that Fashion Bug is going out of business but still getting new stock in every week through sometime in January is dangerous.  Right now the discounts aren't great (30 - 40% off) but they'll start dropping quickly once mid-November and early December get here.  But I'm experiencing what I went through with Borders - I spent so much money, even when the discounts weren't at their best because with a going out of business sale, that book / shirt you really like now probably won't be around next week.

The up-swing is that my wardrobe is filling out.  Yesterday's purchases netted me two fall jackets, two tops, two winter-ish skirts and a necklace and they were all 30% off (except the necklace, which was 50% off); also, bought a pair of ankle boots at Macy's earlier that day.  Expensive place but I had no boots - they've all disintegrated over the years.

(Also, an aside: the amount of skirts and dresses that I have purchased in the last year and have actively worn is probably more than the last two or three years combined. :O )

But the purchasing of Kindle books has shot up and it's all a bunch of little things and I just really need to be careful.  Crunch down on the budget and actually stick to it - emotional shopping makes sense (something I can control, etc) but I don't want to get stupid about it.  I don't want it to get to be something that I can't control.

(Secret fear = ending up on the Horders show.)
