I wish my self-preservation instincts kicked in a bit sooner than they sometimes do ...

(I'm fine, just realized 10 seconds too late that my thumb was partially emerged in the boiling sauce for the beef stroganoff when I was moving the skillet. Now my thumb hurts and smells like dinner.)
