Cooking?

The roommate and I went to St. Michaels on Sunday and one of the things we did there (besides eat.  Also, soft shelled crabs on bread?  Look like giant bugs are trying to escape your sandwich) was a wine tasting.  We both ended up buying two bottles of wine and one of them ones she got was a red that has chocolate in it.

It's sweet and almost takes sort of raspberry-ish but she got it because it was good and because the waitress said it's easy to cook with.

So!

My thought was I'd do something like:

Take a cup of the wine
Take a cup of raspberries
Some sugar?

And then make a sauce out of it so we could, you know, pour over ice cream.

Would that ... work?

Try putting some water in a pan, add some sugar and then caramalize the raspberries. Once that's done add the wine to it, let it simmer for a bit and then beat the crap out of it! Sometimes it helps if you take the time to cut the raspberries up before throwing them in a pan.
