Today's plans had originally looked like this: wake up, clean apartment, catch up on meme/internet life/play Harry Potter Lego (OMG), do laundry, make grocery list/go to store.
However, they ended up like this:
Wake up at 6, realize I've still got several hours of sleep left. Wake up again at 8:45 and wonder why I've kicked all the covers off - wait, and wonder why it's so damned quiet in the apartment. Realize that probably about 45 minutes earlier the power had gone out. Lay in growing pool of sweat for about five minutes before deciding to tackle the cleaning portion even though I should still be sleeping or at least dozing.
Realize at 9:30 that no AC + degrees already climbing + an apartment that gets direct sunlight in the morning + me doing chores = me wondering if I should nap in the bathtub. Discard various ideas of coffee shops and whatnot until I realize that, hey, my parents will have power and AC. After calling and finding out that the power people have no idea when they'll have power back up and running, I ran to Starbucks (to discover they had been losing power in and out all morning and I lucked out by getting in before it went off again) to charge up my cell phone and give my dad a call.
Thankfully, my father was horrified at the whole lack of AC thing in 90 degree temperatures, especially since it'd already been two hours at that point and I bought an iced drink and drove to their place.
So all of my plans for today were completely tossed out the window. I enjoyed hanging around with my folks but am less than thrilled with the lack of clean clothes (damn it, I should have taken them with me...), a half clean bedroom and no food in my house.
I'm going to try and finish cleaning my room, at least, since I need to sleep on the bed at some point and then tackle internet stuff afterward. Everything else happens after work tomorrow.
