Guys, thank you so much for the out pouring of support and love that I've received not only yesterday but for the last few weeks.  Again, I wouldn't have made it this far without you guys.  I'm seriously ready for a vacation, even if it's just from the stress and high-anxiety of real life, because being trapped in my apartment due to a blizzard while waiting to hear about my grandfather doesn't count.

I spent all day yesterday generally being a hermit - Marissa was out for most of the day (I saw her for about an hour in total yesterday) and I either played WoW until my eyes fell out or ran around and did errands.  I had been unable to go back to sleep yesterday morning (not a shock, considering), so I was completely up at 8 am and out the door by 9:30 to go grocery shopping.  Between chores and distracting myself, I did a fairly good job of settling into my own head.

Also unsurprising, I've developed stress headaches this week, which are radiating down my neck and into my shoulders.  I haven't put the heating pad through its paces like this in a while.  I do, however, have a coupon for either a hot stone massage or a deep tissue massage that I think I'll indulge in next weekend - which one do people recommend?  I'm intrigued by the hot stone one...

And happy Valentine's Day to everyone - I'm not normally the kind to sit and feel sad about being alone on VDay (there have been some where I've been with someone and that was nice) and especially not after the last few weeks.  I wish I were dating but at the same time, the last few weeks have really, really put things into perspective for me.  So I'm grateful for the people who do love me, because you guys do.  And I love you as well.

I am keen to get out of this house this week (we might be going out to dinner on Tuesday with some of Marissa's friends - if it doesn't snow :P) and want to do something that's not in my routine.  I think that folds back into the desire of needing a vacation of some sorts.

I am, however, turning it up in the kitchen a bit this week.  I'm making a quiche for the first time tomorrow night and doing a dessert in the slow cooker (Caramel Poached Pears); Wednesday will be shrimp tacos; Thursday is roasted salmon with potatoes and mushrooms.  After a week of not really cooking again thanks to the storms, I'm doing a bit more this week than normal.

When Marissa gets back from gym (I start up again tomorrow), we'll be having breakfast - it's starting, maybe, to turn into a thing where we have breakfast once together on the weekend.  Especially since our lives have been either really hectic or we were snowed in together.  It's been a weird toss up.

I'm going to get caught up on logs and emails tonight when I have more of a brain.  I need to go reheat the heating pad and take some more aspirin for this headache.

So, in short, thank you guys - love you all.

That's what I was thinking. I thought I'd vaguely heard on the radio a few weeks ago that deep tissue tended to be for people who actually had back/muscle issues because of the strength they put into it. So I think if I want to relax and get the kinks out, the hot stone one sounds the best.

I find that even a regular massage can get in pretty deep too, so you might not even -need- the deep tissue.

Yeah, that's true. I'm just not sure what they do with the hot stone massage - is there a massage that goes with it or is it just warmed stones on your back? (The coupon is only good for one of those and not anything else, sadly.)

Both times I've done it, there was a massage plus hot stones on your back in the places they weren't working out the ouchies.
