I probably shouldn't be as pleased with myself as I am now but I'm hoping (hope hope hope) that I broke through the dam of resistance. I finally got myself back to the gym this morning, with no hesitation or stalling. I didn't go as early as I wanted but then again, I'm glad for it -- I let myself have a relaxing morning before getting in the shower around 11:30.
I think the lack of rush helped.
The place is like a five minute drive and closed on Sunday but they're open on Monday. I've got a couple of different plans from now on: every time I go, I mentally give myself $5 (I'd like to go 3 to 4 times a week) to do whatever I want with it by the end of the week. This'll be on top of my normal 'entertainment' budget I give myself. Also, every time I drive to the metro during the work week, I'll go home to drop off
diamond_dust06 and then just go straight to the gym.
I might even give him a stick or something to remind me. ;)
...I feel good. Busted but good in that "Ow I hurt but oh god, I missed this pain" kind of way. Though I had a harsh relearning of the lesson of "eat before you go, dumbass". It took me a while to shake that messed up stomach feeling.
And mentally, I just feel so much better than I did just this morning. I need to keep this up. *crosses fingers*
Now, I'm finishing off the leftovers from last nights dinner (which came out SO well and I loved my little mushrooms soaked in the broth. Nggh.) which was actually a healthy recipe on top of being tasty. ;) Then an hour break since I went from the gym straight to the store and maybe cleaning.
Maybe.
