My apartment is beeping.

Either my cell phone has wandered out of my purse and under something (though what, I'm not sure, since I'm cleaning) or my place is about to explode.

Huh.  I rather it was the first option.  Dieing in an firey explosion simply was not on the To Do List tonight.

Could also be your fire alarm battery is low. Though that's not so much a beep as it is a painfully-loud chirp (that, incidentally, freaks the holy hell out of my dog, heh.)
