indiana_j: (*sigh* HP)
I had to go into work late this morning because my driver side headlight went out.  It cost me only $12 and 20 minutes of waiting time, which was more than fine (and I got to sleep in!) but it was the conversation that I had that was so weird.

A woman sat herself across the table from me in the waiting room and started to talk to me.  Despite the whole "I've got a book and I'm obviously reading it" thing I had going.  She talked.  And talked and talked and talked.

With the exception of maybe 5 minutes, she talked to me.  Or, I should say, at me because she didn't seem that nonplussed when I stopped answering most of the time and just read.  I heard all about her back problems, her older friend and the casino, her children and their children and, then, my favorite ...

How she'd voted for Hilary and thought that the Prime Minister of Israel didn't like Obama because Obama was Muslim.

*sigh*  At that point, I looked up and politely went "Ma'am, it's very clear that what you consider consider truth is not what I consider truth.  I would prefer not to get into a political debate in the lobby of my mechanics shop at 8 in the morning."

That's when I got my 5 minutes of silence.  That ended when she wanted to talk about the blisters on her feet.  I'm not even kidding.

What the hell was that?!

With the sale and the free shipping since I'm a member, I saved almost $20.  \o/
