I HAVE AN APARTMENT! I WILL NOT BE LIVING IN A BOX UNDER A BRIDGE OR DEALING WITH AN HOUR AND A HALF COMMUTE! I can now stop stressing about being homeless! (The lease signing is August 9th but the deposit has been made and it's being held for me until then. I shall then move that weekend.)
On paper, the place sounds like a shoebox (460 square feet) but the model we were shown today was really, really cute and kind of the perfect size for one person and a tiny cat. I'll be on the second floor, so I get a good sized balcony and the bathroom's bigger than my master bathroom here. No utilities are included but I can certainly deal with that and the place is just so green and quiet.
I'm going to take a hardcore nap of victory and then play Dragon Age II all weekend because I've been so stressed about this, guys, you have no idea. Like, to tears stressed about finding a safe, decent place to live. I talked to two young women who lived there - one for three years - and they love it and say it's safe and that they've never had any issues.
