*sigh*

I totally blame this on someone else...a potential continuation of the steamboat and soldiers story, meshed with some of the others that I had done.  It probably will never go anywhere and it probably sounds ... I dunno.  This is what happens when I'm exhausted:


In a time where magic coincided with technology, Captain Marcus Gryphon - veteran and survivor of the Civil War - refused to answer the call of his former mentor Nikola Tesla.  Still bitter over an experiment that wiped him of the ability to use magic right before the war, he has cut all ties with the eccentric Tesla and paid no heed to the missives that find their way to him.

But when the Society for Psychical Research, headed by Tesla's dearest friend Samuel Clemens, find Gryphon in Mississippi, they bring word that Tesla has disappeared.  And rumors are spreading about a so called death ray that the government is desperate to find, hoping to use the so called Teleforce weapon in the United States' defense.

The SPR, however, believe Tesla has found a way to merge ball lightening, plasma and magical energy - perhaps horrified at the discovery, perhaps even dead, Tesla has disappeared and the invention and magic gone with him.  With some effort, the SPR and Clemens have pressed Gryphon and a small team of former and current soldiers into locating both the inventor and the invention before various factions do.

And it's said that somewhere on the raging Mississippi, there's a steamboat that holds the answers.
