I (heart) USAA.
Aug. 25th, 2005 10:37 amYesterday, I set up towing et al. on my auto insurance and while they weren't able to push it through to activite it yesterday (woe), it has started this morning. The man was very pleasant, and rather amused when he found out I wasn't stuck in the middle of nowhere but comfortably at home mucking about on my computer.
It could take up to two hours but they'll call me with an estimated time when they schedule me in. The person is going to attempt to put my tire on and if that fails (because of the, you know, broken metal piece) he's going to tow it. And I don't pay a cent for the help or the towing. Whee!
Okay, I pay $1 a month for it but you know, I think I'll take that over gobs of money without this coverage.
USAA has never, ever done badly by me. I've had the coverage for nearly two years now and I've taken out a regular loan through them. When my policy went up, not because of me but because the rating on the car changed, the guy at USAA spent several hours tracking down the reason why and explained it to me.
Each year, if USAA makes money, they send out a dividen check to all USAA insurance holders, pretty much making their company our company.
I would really, really suggest that if you are military/parents were military/grandparents (I think grandparents will work) that you look into this company. They only serve military or families of military, and God, the government has been bending over backwards for years trying to get them, and they are so very worth it.
...I think I'll play WoW!
