Shit

The air mattress gave up the ghost - with me on it. I've had to rein flare it every night but the last three days have seen me waking up, on the floor essentially being smothered by the air mattress material.

The weekend was great but I'm just exhausted; from activities, work, bad sleep. And now I hurt - both shoulders and neck are fucked up from the air mattress attempted homicide.

I'm tired and in pain and just - I feel SO whiny -.-.

Oh sweetie. <3 Thinking of you - we were talking today about how much we miss you.

(PS - your LJ location gives your exact address. Did you mean for that???)

I miss you guys so much, too! I'm in a little less pain today, thanks to sleeping on the couch, but ugh - my bed, I want my bed. (The only funny thing that came out of the collapsing bed was, as I laid there in pain with the sides of the air mattress on either side of me, Marion tried to sit on the corner of the bed. And promptly slipped down the side onto my face.)

....gah, no! It's off now, thanks for that - I'm going to tweak the iPhone LJ app. o.O

If you can afford it, get a thick memory foam mattress topper and stick it on top of a cot. Heck, some big couch cushions covered by a thick blanket will work underneath, too. Even a stack of old blankets will be sufficient. (It's a bit iffy on a hard surface like the floor). You will have the softest, sturdiest bed you've ever used. As an added bonus, you can pretend you're eight years old and camping in the living room.

Sadly, the memory foam mattress toppers are a bit pricey for me - also, the sleeper sofa that was purchased has one, so I wouldn't have anywhere to put it once the thing finally gets here.

I'm back to sleeping on the couch, though I've jerry-rigged it. It's an L-shaped couch and I've shoved the two cushioned futon thing in the corner of the L and then shoved the coffee table up against that so that it doesn't slip in the middle of the night. Add in pillows and blankets and, yeah, I do feel like I'm camping!

*nods* I'm grateful to be able to afford nice things but I remember all too well being poor and miserly. At least you've got a sofa coming in, eventually. At least you found a comfortable solution to a narrow, cramped cough.

let me know if I can help with getting you a proper bed.

I do have a proper bed - it's been bought and paid for but I'm waiting on delivery. 6-8 weeks, down to about 3-5 now, I'd guess.

*hugs* You feel what you feel, don't put a value judgment on it. You're tired and in pain, that would be difficult for anyone. And a journal's for you to talk about how you're doing.

I know - these next few weeks are going to be rough. The bed trying to suffocate me didn't help matters. -.-

*hugs* Oh, dude. Having had my bed collapse under me many, many times before I jury rigged a fix, that's the worst. The absolute worst.

At least mine was just an air mattress - yours sounds way more painful!

No, because while the slats kept sliding out of whack, I'd at least land on a mattress, not the floor. (And then grab a doona and pillow and stomp over to the couch and sulk for the rest of the night.)
