Oh

And I watched a guy break the freaking sound barrier with his body.  At one point during his space freefall, Baumgartner went as fast as Mach 1.24 / 833.9 MPH which - just - wtf.  It was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed, especially since in the back of my mind I knew that there was a large chance that instead of watching him do amazing things, we'd watch him be killed.

He broke the sound barrier.

Without a plane.

I've heard of 'sitting on the edge of your seat' but this really was the first time it actually applied in real life to me.
