That Birthday Thing
So, for a birthday I was kind of, well, constantly forgetting, it really rather rocked. In no particular order:
1. Holy crap, my friends and family are prolific! My phone was constantly buzzing with FB pings, text messages or calls all day yesterday. <3 Not to mention e-mails!
2. Having spent Monday and Tuesday afternoon in horrible traffic, I asked - and got - to leave at 2 instead of 3:30. No traffic and home so early. <3
3. KITTEN. I stopped by the Galloping Grape (a horse place that sells wine :D) because I'd heard from the parents that someone had brought in a stray cat - who promptly had babies. ^.^ They've found homes for most of them but they're keeping one, so I got to play with momma cat and her eight week old ball of fluff. TEENY TINY BABY.
a;lskdnfashiowhiow *ded* (Smooches, the original store cat, was Displeased and was demanding scritches from her bed. :D)
4. Apparently I'd looked sad at the idea of pizza night for my birthday dinner so, while we'll be going out again this weekend when the sister is up, my parents took me out to Claire's at the Depot - I keep forgetting this place is in town. And it was really good, though I still like Iron Bridge just a little more. (16 oz Veal Steak! Because I was planning for lunch. ;) )
5. Came back to cake and presents - mom got me a cute music box, gift card to B&N and a neat necklace. Dad got me a monkey that sings Happy Birthday (not kidding), a wine icicle thing that you use to keep white wine chilled when you have it out and a kitty key chain.
6. Prosecco, that I bought at the Galloping Grape - basically, so I could say I went there for something other than the kitten. (Baaaaby.)
7. My co-workers all either stopped by or e-mailed me to wish me happy birthday and / or rag on me because it was my birthday (Nick kept telling me that he'd put a pony in the e-mails he was sending with work but lies, all lies). Also, Nikki made Raspberry Lemon Whoopie Pies (though not because it was my birthday) which were fantastic.
8. Free Starbucks that morning as they'd sent me a little coupon for a free drink, any type and any size, for my birthday.
And there's more to come! This weekend with the joint celebration, then the dinner with my friends and more! Good grief. :D
