indiana_j: (Good sleep)

*yawns*

I've pretty much spent this entire weekend comatose which is probably for the best, since the move is in six days. (8/13, move; 8/14, clean the apartment; 8/15, walk-through.)

Friday, I swung from work up to Lauren's so I could take the both of us to Safeway - with her being ill and with me, uh, being lazy?, it was a good chance for both of us to stock up. (I would have been eating peanut butter out of the jar this weekend - thank god for frozen perogies! And for poaching one of the bowls that your roommate still has out since all of mine are packed!) Though, like her, I discovered the rather disgusting slime incident with the rotisserie chicken after it's refrigerated (I understand the grease hardening outside but inside?!) so, uh, that was tossed pretty quickly.

Yesterday was spent taking the DVR into my room (Marissa's dad came over while I was sleeping and took away her big chair and T.V. to be donated, so it was hooked up to thin air) and then curling up in bed with the kitten while we watched the new version of Who's Line and caught up on Iron Chef America. I didn't even have the energy to read yesterday. I did, though, head out with Marissa to meet up with her parents at Seasons 52, Tyson Corner's new wine bar, which gets thumbs up for good food, wine and comping us on dessert when they screwed up Mrs. B's dinner.

Today was even lazier than yesterday if you can believe it. I didn't even bother with real clothes, just sat around all day in my PJs which is not something I do on a regular basis. More ICA, lots of DII and I finally cooked up some perogies. Mm.

I don't know why I'm still sleepy, though, I've barely been conscious for the last two days ...

Marissa gave away her big easy chair??? Man, I would've bought it from her! Sadfaaaace.

(The chicken made good stock, but there was no way I was making soup out of the rest of it. Ugh.)

It was in bad enough condition that Goodwill and the Animal Shelter wouldn't take it (it looked good but there were GIANT STAPLES poking out at various angles and it was falling apart in other places). If it had been in better condition, I would have totally pointed her in your direction!

*shudder* No, I can't blame you. I have no idea what happened - seriously, slime in the chicken. Whaaat?

Did your chicken slime kind of look like chicken juice jello? If so, that is a sign of TRULY AWESOME CHICKEN JUICE. It's the collogen that has boiled out of the bones of the chicken to make super thick chicken broth/stock, and should not be feared. It is chicken jello, and melted down, makes wonderful everything.

If it was ectoplasm I can't help with that one.

It just looked like - really nasty slime. It tasted gross and felt gross. I mean, maybe melting it down would help but getting a mouthful puts me right off.
