Gnocchi a la Parisienne

In other words: pasta with cheese, cheese, more cheese and, oh, butter.  A lot of butter.  (It is delicious.  However, I think I need a nap now.)  I also cheated and did not make the gnocchi as making pasta still terrifies me even with one making it, or helping to make it, under my belt.

I lack the upper body strength and this simply shows me that fearing Italian grandmothers is the right thing to do.  They'll punch your face in with no effort at all, thanks to making pasta by hand.

That is what a pasta maker is for.

(Usually my grandmom would smack us with a wooden spoon. But in a nice way. It never hurt)

Well, there was first the making of the dough (good god - no upper body strength and short ass arms) and then the machine to make it. It was fascinating and the end result was faaantastic but probably because I was not really in charge of it.

I've really only met a handful (ironically, my dad grew up in the Italian part of Philly and was crushed to find out at, like, age 10 that they were NOT Italian) of them but they're awesome in that frightening way.
