Spider-cat, spider-cat, does whatever a spider-cat does...

Only this once but, oh man, that unmistakable noise of a cat climbing a screen ...

Awww! Hank will still climb the screens if there's something really inspiring outside. (Like a skunk or what is clealy a lethal murder of crows.) Trust, it's not nearly as cute when he does it.

*snickers* The older / heavier a cat is, the less adorable them climbing screens is. The fear of falling through factor, I think.

I have no idea what she saw or thought she saw when she started (maybe the pigeons that fly by?). One moment, on the ground. The next, hanging there and wondering what she should do next.

ahah- ours have always just pressed their noses as close to screen as possible, but to be fair, we've never had screen doors, just windows.

[identity profile] indiana-j.livejournal.com 2010-11-05 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
If Elliot could merge himself with the screen, he would. :D And in our place, that's the only window we open (we, uh, don't know how with the others and with a 14 story drop, we're reluctant to learn). Marion is rather enthralled when we do open it.

Yeeeah. His seagull friend is outside and I keep not opening the window since it's COLD so he contents to sitting on the table and making little chirping noises, as opposed to his usual Glued To Screeeen!

Marion is smart; there are OUTSIDE SMELLS. I love it when their little noses go all "ooh?"

[identity profile] indiana-j.livejournal.com 2010-11-05 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I adore Elliot so much - he's such an awesome and yet very strange cat. I don't think I've heard the chirps, just the yeowls of annoyance at not being petted RIGHT THIS MINUTE.

Oh man, so do I. They have an amazing array of expressions and things they do with their nose / mouth. I have to say, though, I find it hysterical when they smell something they don't appreciate and sit around with their mouths open ...

Oh, that grimace, called a flehmen, is pheromone scenting. They're using the vomeronasal organ on the roof of the mouth to better identify the compound.

One of my previous farm cats, a ginger called Artie, was particularly adept at screen climbing. You'd open the back door and there he'd be, like a life-sized Garfield doll.

Mum was less than impressed when he used to climb the curtains as a kitten...

Oh my god, that's the best thing ever! We haven't had a screen climber since I was young, so I was a bit taken aback. But I really shouldn't have been as this cat climbs everything.

Everything. Me included. XD
