I've been exhausted all weekend. It's only 8 and I'm trying to mentally justify going to bed, oh, now. Not justifiable, JenBrain, not in the least. Don't wanna go to work tomorrow, whine whine whine, but it is only a 4 day week so...
Now, Wolverine thoughts.
*Liev Schreiber is awesome. Beyond awesome! Bawesome, even! I thought he was the perfect Victor Creed - sadistic and awful and wonderful all at once. The montage at the start, where you can just watch the Crazy start to grow, was wonderful. They played that whole older brother/younger brother really well, I thought.
*I liked Gambit a whole lot more than I thought I was going to. The accent was very, very subtle - more of a light southern than a thick Cajun which would have probably been awful. And the fight scenes were pure, pure Gambit from the comics. Climbing up the wall with the broken staff was fantastic - and just enough smarm and kick ass ability tied together.
*Did I mention Liev Schreiber was awesome?
*Hugh Jackman is always fun as Wolverine, though it would have been nice to see more GRR. But it was only PG-13, so.
*That was not Emma Frost.
*I really wasn't impressed with younger Scott.
*Aww, Bradly was adorable. And Wade! Wade rocked my world but that's not really surprising seeing as Ryan Reynolds is my imaginary husband. :D
*Heee, will.i.am rocked as Wraith. Seriously, I don't know if they could have cast that any better.
*Liev ... yeah, I may have mentioned him.
Basically, I liked a lot of the parts of it (any time the group was on scene, any time Sabretooth was (HOMG, the fight scene of Creed and Logan vs. Deadpool! "Back to back!" Aaahh!), the fight scenes, Gambit) but overall ... I don't know. I did like it, quite a bit, but there was something that made me not like it as much as X2. And I can't figure it out.
