1. Cal tried to go meat-free once because when she was really young because she heard that's what "elf folk did". It lasted for all of two hours before Eron started in on one of his meals and she stole his steak.
2. Right around that time, she decided she wanted to be a warrior, not a mage. She found a sword and tried to practice with it...until she nearly cut off her own foot. At which point, she went back to studying to be a mage.
3. Sometimes, as much as she misses her dad, she's glad things worked out the way they did. On the whole, she thinks that Eron was a much better dad than her real father--and she feels a great amount of guilt at that. Which is why she never called Eron 'father', even though that's really what he was.
